Built from the Ground Up
What started as a one-man welding operation in Mike Thompson’s garage in 2016, taking on moonlighting jobs after hours, grew into Mickey T Welding and Fabrication, officially established as an LLC in 2018. Today, the business operates as a fully established fabrication shop with a team and a brick-and-mortar location in Granby, Colorado. Mickey T Welding combines old-school craftsmanship with modern capabilities, offering turn-key metalwork that covers everything from design and drawing to painting and installation.
Whether the job happens in the shop or out in the field, every weld reflects the same standard: do it right the first time. That commitment, along with transparent pricing and dependable service, has made Mickey T Welding one of the most trusted names in mountain metalwork.
Meet Mike Thompson
Mike Thompson, owner and founder of Mickey T Welding and Fabrication, has spent nearly two decades in the trade, much of it working in the ski industry, where he honed his skills creating and maintaining lift platforms, chairlifts, restaurant structures, and custom metal solutions for mountain operations. His experience ranges from delicate ornamental details to heavy-duty fabrication that keeps Colorado’s ski lifts running safely and smoothly.
Mike’s reputation is built on reliability, precision, and professionalism. He’s an AWS Certified D1.1 Welder, fully insured, and known for being the guy who gets the job done right, even when others can’t. His philosophy is simple: take a client’s idea, extract the vision, and deliver a finished product that’s as functional as it is durable.
